At The Children's Cottage Daycare and Preschool, our mission consists of providing a warm and nurturing environment where children feel safe. Our unique Daycare offers various activities that are specifically designed to encourage each child’s growth. Through cooperative play and creative activities, kids reach their social, emotional and physical milestones naturally and with ease.

At The Children's Cottage Daycare and preschool, we’re committed to doing everything possible to support our community and families, It starts with a healthy, safe environment when your child is away from home. We believe your child should be taught from a young age how to succeed in everything they try and do and if they do not succeed learn from it.

We offer developmentally appropriate programs and specialized curriculum for infants to school-age students all the way to high school. Our School Readiness Pathway provides options to create the most fitting path for your child to elementary school and future academic success.

Owner/Director

Yvonne Cottage

Meet Mrs. Yvonne, owner and director of The Children’s Cottage Daycare and Preschool. Mrs. Yvonne is a teacher, advocate, mentor, and community leader. She tirelessly works to assist families in getting to the next level and helping children meet their highest potential. Mrs. Yvonne has a passion for advocacy on several platforms. She is a member and leader of California’s first-ever Child Care Providers Union (CCPU) and advocates for family childcare providers nationwide. She is also the Vice President of The Family Childcare and Center Enrichment Foundation. She advocates for all small businesses across California searching for better circumstances. She prides herself on fighting for these, such as family childcare providers and all early childhood educators, to ensure the next generation has the best chances to succeed. Among her passions for advocacy are her love, patience, and unique ability to instill resilience in the under-served, underprivileged, and at-risk youth in the Antelope Valley and across Los Angeles County, most recently taking the fight across the country. Her advocacy and work in the union have led her to travel the country to speak and network nationwide to bring Family Child Care to its optimal level and bring attention to the unique needs, strengths, and abilities of family childcare providers and the families they serve. Among the committees she sits on is the AV Human Trafficking Coalition. Mrs. Yvonne is passionate about leading the fight against human trafficking and helping victims one at a time with love, respect, resources, referrals, and, most of all, sharing the love of Christ. Her interests include martial arts such as Brazilian Jiujitsu, Muay Thai, and MMA. She loves running, reading, hiking, kayaking, and writing and will finish her first book to hit the shelves in early 2025.
